CAST
Sorry for the delay, my friends. Between late auditions due to illness and today’s random power failures this has been quite a casting process. I am thrilled with the strength of this group. As many of you heard today, I am tasking two actors with creating two characters not originally included in the script and creating original scenes to add to the existing play in the real commedia tradition. I’m also thrilled with the tap dancing in this show. I think the dancing will be our “secret weapon” at competition.
We have a lot to do. Besides the usual steps of rehearsing a play we need to learn how to perform in this style, master a commedia specialty (everyone!), make our character masks, and create new dialogue -- all of this before our preview performance on October 16. In other words: we need to get started!
